Passive Investing

Passive investing is an investment strategy to maximize returns by minimizing buying and selling.

Index investing is perhaps the most common form of passive investing, whereby investors seek to replicate and hold a broad market index or indices.

Passive investment is cheaper, less complex, and often produces superior after-tax results over medium to long time horizons than actively managed portfolios.

Costs

Cost refers to the management costs of an investment.

  • Investors cannot control the markets but they can control costs.
  • The lower investment costs, the more investors keep of their returns and the greater their chance of achieving investment success.
  • Research suggests that lower-cost investments have tended to outperform higher-cost alternatives.

Note: The portfolio balances shown are hypothetical and do not reflect any particular investment. The final account balances do not reflect any taxes or penalties that might be due upon distribution. Indirect Cost Ratio (ICR) is used for the expense ratio. ICR is the sum of the expenses incurred by the fund expressed as a percentage of the average net assets throughout the year. The ICR includes management and performance fees, as well as other operational fees. ESG Focused

At HH Wealth we are taking an active step to help preserve our beautiful planet and population.
We are now moving forward with a heavy belief in ESG Investing.

What is ESG?
ESG refers to Environmental, Social and Governance risks that an investor can consider before making an investment.
ESG Investing is an umbrella term for investments

Environmental Risks: Environmental risks created by business activities have actual or potential negative impact on air, land, water, ecosystems and human health. Company environmental activities considered ESG factors include; managing resources and preventing pollution, reducing emissions and climate impact, and executing environmental reporting or disclosure. Environmental positive outcomes include; avoiding or minimising environmental liabilities, lowering costs and increasing profitability through energy and other efficiencies, and reducing regulatory, litigation and repetitional risk.

Social Risks: Social risks refer to the impact that companies can have on society. They are addressed by company social activities such as promoting health and safety, encouraging labour-management relations, protecting human rights and focusing on product integrity. Social positive outcomes include increasing productivity and morale, reducing turnover and absenteeism, and improving brand loyalty.

Governance Risks: Governance risks concern the way companies are run. It addresses areas such as corporate brand independence and diversity, corporate risk management and excessive executive compensation, through company governance activities such as increasing diversity and accountability of the board, protecting shareholders and their rights, and reporting and disclosing information. Governance positive outcomes include aligning interests of share-owners and management, and avoiding unpleasant financial surprises.
